Glamour Grammata builds on a project from my final presentation at DOCH’s Master in New Performative Practices in 2017 and the consecutive performative concerts with the Norwegian Experimental pop singer Jenny Hval.  I explore erotic writing by cutting and re-editing existing erotica. Reversing the power dynamics and gender roles typically embedded in narratives of desire. In this video-based work, the written word becomes material for choreography. I imagine the letters themselves dancing and existing as sensuous, autonomous beings, freed from the conventions of erotic narratives.

Glamour Grammata explores erotica in literature. I work with excerpts of erotic novels the kind one can buy for 99 USD at the bookstore. These books are usually written by men using female pen names. Through editing, slicing, reversing, speaking and singing out loud the conventions of this erotic literature, I want to reimagine what can be a written/spoken erotic experience. The project wants to reconquer erotic stories word by word, letter by letter with a playful game of collage.
